Ada Szon, a Polish-qualified advocate, is a senior associate in the Energy and Infrastructure Department at CMS Poland.

Ada has participated in numerous transactions on the Polish energy market, including in the largest transactions on the Polish renewable energy market, both concerning wind projects (onshore and offshore) and photovoltaic projects. She has gained experience at advising energy sector entities on broadly understood regulatory issues with respect to developing new and operational energy units, including State aid for the offshore wind farms. She has been involved in conducting legal due diligence of projects and operating renewable energy installations, including onshore and offshore wind farms and PV projects with respect to the real estate issues.

Ada provides day-to-day legal and business advice on projects implemented in the Baltic Sea, primarily on issues pertaining to the investment process for offshore gas pipelines. She also advises on the projects pertaining to investment process for onshore gas pipelines. Her expertise includes negotiating land agreements, supporting the client in the proceedings before the administrative authorities as well as the voivodship administrative courts and Supreme Administrative Court.

Ada also specialises in advising energy sector entities on regulatory issues, including issues related to licensing and business tariffs, nuclear energy and State aid for the energy sector. She advised Polish power generators with regard to the European Commission’s “Clean Energy for All Europeans” legislative package.

She also supports energy sector companies during proceedings between them and the President of the Energy Regulatory Authority, at the administrative stage of these proceedings and at the stage of questioning Regulatory Authority’s decisions before the common courts.
