Maciej Andrzejewski is an advocate and a counsel in the Employment Group of CMS. He has been co-operating with CMS since 2011. 

He specialises in individual and collective labour law and social insurance law.

On a day-to-day basis he advises clients on individual cases relating to hiring and dismissing key personnel, working time and determining incentive compensation plans and benefits. He also assists clients in introducing employment-related documentation and ensuring they comply with local laws. His expertise covers issues related to the restructuring of employment in companies, such as mass redundancies, cross-border transfers or outsourcing and collective labour law issues.

Maciej is widely experienced in developing and executing policies on variable components of key management remuneration in the process of implementation of the CRD regulations in banking sector.

He regularly publishes commentaries in “Rzeczpospolita” and is experienced in delivering training sessions and webinars for the firm’s clients. 

Legal 500 recommends Maciej as the Rising Star.

Relevant experience

  • One of the biggest Polish universal banks on trade unions strategy and in the conflict between unions. Advising and working hands-on in collective dismissals including negotiations with unions during the process. Helping on collective disputes - full strategy towards 9 trade unions. Advising on implementing new bonus scheme in all sales departments of the Bank, including negotiations with unions within this process.
  • A leading off-price retailer of apparel and home fashions in relation to preparing of international strategy on handling labour relations in the organization. Assisting in on-going communication with union officials and comprehensive advice on legitimate areas of concern raised by the trade unions and help in employment litigation.
