Rafał Burda is an advocate and senior associate in Corporate / M&A Department at CMS.

In his practice Rafał focuses on corporate and civil law matters. He has assisted private equity clients and strategic investors from various sectors in numerous M&A projects where he conducted and supervised legal due diligence, as well as prepared and negotiated transaction documentation. He also advises both Polish and foreign commercial clients as to the day-to-day corporate issues, commercial and capital markets law aspects.

Prior to joining CMS, Rafał cooperated with DLA Piper.

Relevant experience

  • Modus Group on the sale of solar power parks in Poland to the leading global asset manager Aberdeen Standard Investments SL Capital Infrastructure II fund (“SLCI II”). The portfolio consists of 49 solar power parks with a total power of 45.4 megawatts (MW). According to data available to the company, it is the biggest transaction for solar power parks in Poland so far.
  • Advice to the international biopharmaceutical company on the acquisition of companies being a provider of blood and human tissue procurement services to the biopharmaceutical industry in several jurisdictions, including Poland.
  • Mid Europa Partners on the sale of its holding company Altura S.a.r.l. which owns 99.8% of Polskie Koleje Linowe (Polish Cable Railways - PKL) to the Polish Development Fund.
  • LGI Ventures B.V. (Liberty Global portfolio company) on setting up a Joint Venture in Poland with Vector Group, a private company from IT sector.
