João Leitão Figueiredo recognized as Lawyer of the Year in IP/TMT
João Leitão Figueiredo, managing associate of CMS Rui Pena & Arnaut, was elected lawyer of the year in the IP & TMT category of the Forty under 40 awards, promoted by Iberian Lawyer.
João Leitão Figueiredo received yesterday, in Lisbon, the distinction delivered by Iberian Lawyer, in a ceremony where 40 awards were given to the 20 best lawyers under 40 years old and 20 best legal teams in the Iberian Peninsula . For João Leitão Figueiredo, this distinction is "extremely important for mirroring the opinion of Clients and Arbitrators who recognize individual performance, but also represents the work developed by an extraordinary IP/TMC team that makes CMS a unique project in Portugal. It is also an added motivation for us to continue to ensure excellence in the quality of service provided to the client and overcome current and future challenges".
The ceremony was attended by Nuno Pena, one of CMS's founding partners. For Nuno Pena "these awards of enormous international prestige reflect the recognition and consolidation of CMS's strategic bet on the generations of future partners".
In this edition of Forty under 40, CMS was also among the five most voted by the jury in the area of Restructuring & Insolvency, in the team and individual categories. Diogo Castanheira Pereira, coordinating associate of CMS, was in the Top 5 of the nominees for the Lawyer of the Year award.
The Forty under 40 awards highlight Portuguese and Spanish lawyers under 40 years of age for their performance in complex operations, having developed innovative and value-added legal solutions to their clients' business during the last 12 months.
