Matt has spent the first half of his career in London and the second half in Singapore, where he helped to build CMS’s multi award-winning regional TMT practice. He is recognised by Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners as being a leading lawyer in his field. His practice focuses in particular on:
- technology, including e-commerce, cloud, data, privacy, cybersecurity, payments, mobile applications, adtech and IoT;
- digital media, including linear and non-linear broadcasting, OTT, gaming, advertising, sports, esports and sponsorship;
- complex sourcing, outsourcing and supply chain transactions; and
- telecoms, including regulatory and market entry advice.
Matt regularly appears on TV and in print media to discuss the tech/media/telecoms sectors. He is a frequent commentator on BBC World News, Channel News Asia, Wall Street Journal, The Business Times, Mashable, Today and The Straits Times. He is active in the startup ecosystem and guides startups and fast-growth companies on funding, IP protection and commercialisation. He has lectured at Singapore Management University on startup business models and associated legal and regulatory considerations.
