CymbiQ Group on expansion course

We at CMS are excited to assist capiton and CymbiQ in this challenging project that requires a wide range of expertise, from tech and experience in cross-border deals to private equity aspects.

CymbiQ Group AG, a European cyber security group headquartered in Switzerland and a portfolio company of the German private equity firm capiton, is expanding its range of integrated security solutions and cyber risk resilience services in Europe.

CMS, led by Zurich-based partner Daniel Jenny, advised capiton and CymbiQ Group on two transactions that are part of CymbiQ Group’s buy-and-build strategy. In May 2019, CymbiQ purchased Koch IT AG, the Swiss IT, software engineering and project services company. Since 1988, Koch IT has focused on software development for government agencies and industry. In 2018, the group acquired anovis it-services and trading gmbh, the Austrian managed security service provider.

CymbiQ’s strategy in is line with the need for consolidation and to assert itself in a rather fragmented market, which is gaining importance and growing. We at CMS are excited to assist capiton and CymbiQ in this challenging project that requires a wide range of expertise, from tech and experience in cross-border deals to private equity aspects,” said Daniel Jenny.

The Swiss team was supported by CMS experts from Germany on the Koch IT deal and by teams from Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic on the anovis transaction.
