Dušan is a senior associate in the Real Estate and Energy groups at CMS Slovakia. He focuses on transactions including sales and acquisitions of companies, projects and developments, investments, financing, litigation and leasing in the real estate, logistics and construction, and energy sectors. 

He acts on domestic and cross-border matters for both high-profile international and Slovak clients. His clients range from logistics and engineering companies, hotel groups and multi–national retailers, e–retailers and manufacturers, particularly in the automotive sector, to real estate funds, foreign and domestic investors, private equity firms, and asset management companies. 

Before joining CMS, Dušan worked at two of the most well-known law firms in the Czech–Slovak market.

Relevant experience

  • TPG Europe on the acquisition of the Vector Parks Logistics Centres in Slovakia and Czech Republic from Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets. This included due diligence reports, preparation, negotiation and drafting of the SPA and coordination of remaining work.
  • Enery, a newly formed Austrian investment fund, on the acquisition of a solar power portfolio across the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The seller was Green Horizon Renewables and it involved 4 plants in the Czech Republic and 2 in Slovakia.
  • IAD Investments, an asset management company, on its Slovak real estate fund’s acquisition and refinancing of a Steinerka office property in Bratislava by the acquisition of 100% of shares in the SPV (share deal).
  • Gramercy Europe, acting through its fund Gramercy Property Europe III, on the successful acquisition of the KiK Logistics Centre near Dunajská Streda, Slovakia, from Go Asset and ECE European City Estates.
  • An Asian Investor on refinancing acquired logistic parks in west and central Slovakia.
  • An international private joint-stock company on a due diligence and other related issues regarding the refinancing of construction works for multiple renewable energy plants.
  • One the largest commercial Czech banks on a significant loan to a leading CEE private healthcare provider of medical facilities; hospitals, health centres, pharmacies, and laboratories. This involved refinancing, acquisition financing, corporate and capex loans.
  • Slovak asset management company Wood & Co. on the acquisition of the Aupark Office Tower from Heitman. This was one of the largest office transactions in Slovakia in the last decade.
  • An international hotel group on its potential acquisition of one of the most successful family-run holiday hotel groups in Central Europe.
  • A leading global car manufacturer on all real estate and corporate matters concerning its GBP 1bn+ investment in Slovakia, which includes a major manufacturing plant. This is the largest investment they have undertaken in decades.
