Petra Čorba Stark is a head of the Corporate and M&A Team at CMS Bratislava, where she specialises in complex M&A transactions and innovative corporate restructurings. Her broad corporate expertise also includes Public-Private Partnerships.

She has extensive experience in numerous sectors including automotive and manufacturing, financial services, energy, infrastructure, healthcare and life sciences, TMT, retail and consumer, real estate, projects and construction, and transport. Her clients include international investors, the government and international and national companies from all sectors. She is very experienced at acting on complex, cross-border transactions and also has many long-term clients for whom she provides on-going corporate advice to ensure they achieve their commercial aims.

Before joining CMS, Petra previously worked for a leading law firm in the Czech Republic and Slovakia and as an in-house lawyer in a major petrochemical company.

  • Advent International on the EUR 1.9bn acquisition of Zentiva from Sanofi, the second largest transaction in the region in recent years.
  • The Government of Slovakia on preparing a tender for the planning, construction, operation and facility management aspects of a prison.
  • American Express on regulatory issues regarding its operations in Slovakia, contracts with merchants in this jurisdiction, outsourcing its services to a local bank, and other general corporate advice.
  • The shareholders of MaxSport, janom cz a.s., and JEREMIE Co-Investment Fund, s.r.o., on the sale of the company to Bauli, a family-owned Italian baked goods producer. MaxSport is a Slovak manufacturer of protein bars and products.
  • A leading luxury German car manufacturer on its investment in setting up its business in Slovakia, including drafting all relevant documentation concerning investment, contracts with suppliers and all relevant contracts relating to its new business and corporate matters.
  • A global transport and digital company on launch of its business and various regulatory matters.
  • A global media-services provider and production company on corporate, regulatory and other matters, such as the provision of cash rebates in the film industry in Slovakia.
  • Wood & Co., a leading investment bank in Europe, on the acquisition of the Aupark Office Tower from Heitman. This was the largest office real estate transaction in Slovakia in recent years.
