Business Breakfast I Working Time

Past event
28 November 2019, 08:00 - 10:00 UTC +00:00

Many companies increasingly use different forms and types of working time in order to flexibly arrange work processes and move closer to the needs of their employees.

During the business breakfast, which will be hosted by attorney-at-law Amela Žrt, our Labour Law expert, we will address the hot issues related to the forms and types of working time that employers, in-house lawyers, and other persons who define the rights and duties of employees, are currently facing.

We will take a closer look at the most prominent Slovenian example of flexible working time put into practice as we will be joined by Ms Aleksandra Logar, Chief Human Resources Officer at Plastika Skaza. We will talk to her about the challenges that Plastika Skaza was facing before the introduction of a six-hour working day and what the first responses to the introduced change have been.

Our two-hour gathering will address the following topics:

1. Flexible working time: do we really know what it is?

  • Presentation of different forms of working time, problems in practice and pitfalls for the employers.

2. Work time recording

  • Existing legal provisions and a recent judgment of the European Court of Justice addressing the issue of adequate systems that allow for the daily recording of employees' working time.
  • Logging of working hours and flexible types and forms of working time.

3. Current case law on working time violations

  • Practical examples and guidelines on how to avoid such and similar mistakes.

4. Plastika Skaza: We have introduced a 6-hour working day!

  • Discussion about the challenges Plastika Skaza faced in introducing a shorter working time.

Attendance is free of charge, but requires prior registration, on a first-come first-served basis. Available places are limited. Please confirm your attendance at the event as soon as possible, but by 22 November 2019 the latest. We also invite you to send us questions about your challenges regarding working time in your organisation.
