JAMES GRIMWOOD Partner Private Equity CMS London | CMS advised Cinven on its acquisition of Partner in Pet Foods (PPF), a prized asset in the European pet food market, from Pamplona Capital Management, having previously acted for Advent International on its sale to Pamplona in 2015. The European pet food market is worth over EUR 23bn and is expected to grow at a significant pace over the coming years. PPF is a market leading player with more than 1,400 employees, nine manufacturing operations across Europe and distribution across 38 countries, all led by an exceptional management team. CMS London partner James Grimwood and CEE-based partner Graham Conlon led a 60-strong pan-European CMS team, on the very fast deal timeline of a few days. Commenting on the transaction, James Grimwood and Graham Conlon said, “This deal underlined the strengths of the CMS private equity team, with the international platform enabling us to deploy high calibre lawyers to deliver large, complex, cross- border deals within whatever timeframes our clients required, to give them an edge in the highly competitive market they operate in”. CMS continues to advise PPF on a range of matters, supporting the business as it capitalises on the wide growth opportunities available to it. |
