CMS Partner Döne Yalçın Becomes the First Turkish Member in the IADC

Döne Yalçın, Managing Partner of CMS Turkiye, was recently accepted as a member of the International Association of Defence Counsel (IADC) following a thorough review of her nomination by the board of directors. She is the first and currently only Turkish member of this association.

The IADC is composed of corporate and insurance defence lawyers, as well as executives from the insurance sector. The organisation can count among its members the world’s leading experts in these fields. IADC has been working in the service of these distinguished members since it was founded in 1920 and its associates represent the largest corporations around the world, including many of the companies listed in the Fortune 500. As an invitation-only, peer-reviewed association, the IADC is uniquely positioned to provide benefits to those corporate defence lawyers and insurance executives who need the highest level of educational and professional development opportunities possible.

Döne Yalçın is the Managing Partner of CMS Turkiye, which she joined when it was first established in 2013. Before this she led the Turkish Desk at CMS Vienna. She is the only lawyer accredited to practice law in both Turkiye and Austria and advises clients on a broad range of issues relating to energy, corporate law and commercial matters. With her extensive advisory and transactional experience, she has a particular focus on the real estate, construction, manufacturing and energy sectors.

Before joining CMS, she worked at numerous leading law firms in Turkiye and Austria, where she gained valuable experience and assisted numerous foreign investors in expanding into the Turkish market, as well as helping Turkish investors establish business operations in the EU. Döne Yalçın is the President of the Association of Austrian and Turkish Businesspeople and Industry (ATIS), the Vice President of the Austrian-Turkish Business Cooperation Council (ATBCC) and the Vice President of the Austrian-Turkish Economic Forum (ÖTW).
