Evgenia Prudko was a speaker at the International Field Days in Ukraine

On 19-20 June 2019, the International Field Days took place in Kyiv. ​

​The leading national agricultural companies gathered to share their experiences, to view and to test modern agricultural equipment and methods of land fertilisation.

Evgenia Prudko, attorney-at-law with CMS RRH, Kyiv office and Deputy Head of the Working Group “Food & Agriculture” of the German-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, participated in one of the panel discussions arranged by the Chamber, which was devoted to the legal challenges foreign farmers face in their business activities in Ukraine.
 
The participants declared that the biggest challenge for companies operating in the agricultural sector was raider attacks. Their number is increasing because the sector is growing rapidly and is highly profitable, but at the same time low rent on agricultural land, a lack of regulations and corruption, among other things, make it very attractive for raiders.
 
The participants made recommendations about how such companies can protect themselves and what businesses should consider. The Business Ombudsmen, representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture in Ukraine and the German Embassy, and experienced foreign farmers participated in discussion as well.   ​
