Mbeko is a lawyer and tax practitioner in the tax and exchange control team.

Mbeko has experience in litigation, dispute resolution (tax controversy), expatriate tax, corporate tax, cross-border transactions, structuring, carve-outs and Joint Ventures, M&A, permanent establishment and controlled foreign company advice, and the application of double tax agreements. 

His services focus on a broad range of clients including international and domestic, corporates and individuals across a range of sectors, including financial institutions and services, mining and commodities, regulatory/compliance and exchange control. The practice has extensive experience interacting with regulatory bodies and negotiating and resolving tax disputes as well as structuring transactions across Africa.

Mbeko served articles at Delport van den Berg Inc. (Menlyn, Pretoria) where he gained experience in the banking litigation and corporate and commercial departments. After completing his articles, he decided to pursue a career in the tax field and went on to join EY as a tax trainee rotating to various sub-service lines.
