Making Moves!

Johannesburg, South Africa – CMS South Africa is pleased to announce the promotion of three lawyers to Directors in various teams in their Johannesburg office. These plans come at a time when the firm looks to accelerate the growth of local and African legal talent, to increase its service offering in line with the growing legal needs of its clients and to bolster its future-facing positioning.

Pursuant to this ambitious objective, experienced Banking & Finance lawyer Bridgett Majola has been appointed as an Equity Director and the Head of Project Finance: Energy & Infrastructure.  Bridgett joined the Banking & Finance team in May 2020 and has shown tremendous skill in developing her practice and her team of dynamic lawyers.  On her promotion, Bridgett says: “It’s a huge milestone for a lawyer to be promoted to lead and grow a dynamic and critical team, not only for our business but for our clients, especially at a law firm that is the quality of CMS.  I’m excited to have an opportunity to do meaningful work that I love, for various types of local and regional clients, in a place where I am happy, and I feel valued.”

Lucinda Hinxman has been appointed as an Equity Director and the Head of the Employment & Labour team.  Lucinda joined CMS in April 2021 as a consultant to start building the Employment & Labour offering, which has rapidly grown into a self-standing practice thanks to her dedication and skill. “It is a privilege to have become further integrated into the CMS South Africa team and its vision,” says Lucinda. 

Andre van den Berg has been promoted from Senior Associate in the Banking & Finance team to a Salaried Director.  “This is a hugely significant and exciting milestone for me, and the realisation of one of my earliest career aspirations.  I’m very proud to be a part of the CMS South Africa family, to have been afforded the opportunity to take the next step of my career with the firm and to contribute to its continued growth and success as we strive to realise CMS South Africa’s ambition to be among the very best that South Africa, and Africa, has to offer.”
