After previously holding the role of Counsel, Curra Munuera has been named Partner of CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo as part of the firm's expansion of its Banking and Finance Department.
Curra's specialist areas include the securities market, derivatives, structured financing and financial regulation. Her extensive professional experience began in the finance sector in 1992 where she worked at various national and international investment banks such as Banco de Madrid, Banesto and Banque Indosuez. She has also worked as a lawyer at Fernando Scornik Gerstein and Cuatrecasas, held the role of Head of the Capital Markets Department at Natixis, been a member of the Legal Service of the Securities and Exchange Commission (CNMV) and practiced as a lawyer for the Fund for Orderly Bank Restructuring (FROB).
The new CMS Partner also possesses vast experience in restructuring, recapitalisation, the sale and purchase of shares or assets and liabilities, the structuring of the sale and purchase of portfolios, banking transactions and financing operations, the issue and offer of debt and capital securities and securitisations.
Moreover, Curra has been involved in some of the most significant finance sector transactions of recent times such as the resolution of Banca Privada d'Andorra and the restructuring of BFA-Bankia, Banco CEISS, Banco Gallego, Banco de Valencia, Mota del Cuervo and Cooperativa de Crédito, CX. She has advised on the issue of subordinated, convertible, mortgage and territorial bonds and the sale of financial institutions' shares via auction, accelerated book building and bilateral agreements. Additionally, she has guided companies on the sale and purchase of unpaid loans, mortgage loans and credits, consumer loans and leasing, whether directly or via the structuring or securitisation thereof.
