Alexis Laes specialiseerde zich binnen het advocatenkantoor Olswang in nieuw technologierecht, regelgevingsrecht en algemeen EU-recht, zowel in een adviserende rol als bij geschillen. Door zich in 2017 bij CMS aan te sluiten blijft hij zijn expertise verder ontwikkelen. 

Alexis behandelt voornamelijk regelgevingszaken waarbij de nationale regelgevende instanties belast met elektronische communicatie/telecommunicatie betrokken zijn.

Alexis houdt zich ook bezig met zaken betreffende vrij verkeer, voornamelijk op het gebied van e-commerce en sport.

Bovendien treedt Alexis regelmatig op in gokzaken (off-line en on-line) waarbij hij Belgische en buitenlandse operatoren adviseert over de specifieke kenmerken van de Belgische wetgeving en de verenigbaarheid daarvan met het EU-recht. Hij vertegenwoordigt hen eveneens voor de Kansspelcommissie (met inbegrip van vergunningsaanvragen en sanctieprocedures).
