A new era ahead of us!

At the beginning of 2014, one lesson that we can learn from the past years is that investing abroad becomes more and more attractive for Belgian companies.

The world business market is getting better and we are starting to feel that we are reaching the end of the financial crisis. The banks are investing again and companies are slowly becoming more confident in the future. We of course constantly speak of extending business in foreign countries as this has become a basic strategy for the development of a company. The Belgian market is not big enough for the success of a small or medium-sized company.

To be part of the financial world of the future, investors need to be more and more internationally oriented and must invest in companies with a multicultural vision. To ensure your investment is as effective as possible, it is absolutely necessary to be well informed about legal issues, not only in Belgium but also in the country of investment.

Such a requirement has been well understood by our firm: we offer legal assistance in numerous countries all over the world and we are able to coach you from the beginning of your investment until the realisation of the project on all legal-related matters. Our lawyers are trained in all sectors that are directly or indirectly linked to the life of a company and we are sensitive to your queries, legally and economically speaking.

We can help your company to get acquainted with the legal intricacies within a foreign country by co-ordination with the local lawyer and by asking the right questions. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with your contact person in our firm, who will remain at your disposal and will always try to find the best practicable solution to your situation by taking into account the necessity of adaptability to each project and its financial aspects.

Team working gives guarantees to the success of a project.

This first newsletter of the year discusses such topics as the new Commercial Practices Act, EU

guidance to member states on state intervention in electricity markets.

Enjoy your reading!
