CMS has assisted Merck Ventures and Bell Food Group on their investment in Mosa Meat B.V.

Mosa Meat, based in Maastricht, has successfully developed a method to produce lab-generated meat, using bovine cell tissue. The investment, in an amount of EUR 7.5 million, will be used to upscale productions and prepare the market entry. Mosa Meat is led by Maastricht University professor Mark Post and food specialist Peter Verstrate.

Dutch Merck Ventures B.V. is an independent part of the Merck Group, and focuses its investments in the fields of Life Science, Performance Materials and New Businesses. Bell Food Group AG is based in Basle, Switzerland and quoted on the Swiss stock exchange. It is a leading meat processor and manufacturers of convenience products.

The CMS team comprised Christian Delgado, Roman Tarlavski, Patrick Chung, Barbara Veldmaat, Fleur van Assendelft de Coningh, Berber van Haren and Martijn van der Bie. Mosa Meat was assisted by Bob van der Kamp (Lexsigma).
