EC: Report on the adequacy of MMR on money market funds from a prudential and economic point of view
The report provides the results of an assessment carried out on liquidity risks and its conclusions on better MMF resilience. Alongside the report, a document containing FAQs has also been published.
ESMA: 2025 CSA on compliance and internal audit functions of fund managers
ESMA has published the results of its 2025 common supervisory action on the compliance and internal audit functions of fund managers, carried out in with the participation of all EU and EEA national supervisors. It found that most fund managers comply with key requirements under the AIFMD and UCITS framework, but notes concerns over governance weaknesses, particularly with regard to the independence of control functions, the quality and implementation of internal policies, and oversight by senior management and boards.
AMLA: Home-host supervisory cooperation
AMLA is consulting on proposed draft regulatory technical standards which set out a simple framework for cooperation between home and host supervisors of cross-border groups of obliged entities. AMLA will hold a public hearing on 28 May 2026.
ECB: Good practices for advancing climate and nature-related risk management
ECB has published a blog by Frank Elderson and two reports which cover good practices for climate and nature risk management and good practices for climate and nature-related risk stress testing aimed at supervised banks. The blog concludes that ECB “will place even greater emphasis on the topics of risk underestimation, physical risks and C&N risks under heightened uncertainty to ensure resilience”.

EBA: Guidelines on the application of the definition of default
EBA has published today its final report amending the guidelines on the application of the definition of default. The report also confirms that the 1% threshold applied to reductions in net present value loss in debt restructuring remains appropriate for prudential default recognition.
EBA: Assessing risk weights to specialised lending exposures
EBA is consulting on regulatory technical standards with regard to assessing risk weights to specialised lending exposures. Responses are required by 7 August 2026.

ESMA’s report provides an overview of how national enforcers and ESMA supervised corporate reporting across the EEA during 2025.
BIS/IOSCO: Updated guidance and public disclosures to implement initial margin proposals
BIS and IOSCO are consulting on amendments to CCP-related resilience guidance and public quantitative disclosures requirements which incorporate proposals from their January 2025 report on transparency and responsiveness of initial margin in centrally cleared markets, published in January 2025. Responses are required by 30 June 2026.
