Coronavirus crisis: More flexibility for European structural and investment funds

Adopted on 23 April 2020, Regulation (EU) N° 2020/558 provides exceptional flexibility in the use of European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) aiming to respond quickly and effectively to the economic difficulties caused by the COVID-19 epidemic. The new provisions of the Regulation, which follow an initial package of measures known as the “Corona Response Investment Initiative”, establish a more flexible framework to respond to the worsening crisis.
