EU anti-dumping investigation of Glass Fibre Products from Bahrain, Egypt and Thailand
On 17 February 2025, the EU opened an anti-dumping investigation concerning EU imports of continuous filament glass fibre products originating in Bahrain, Egypt and Thailand, which could lead to substantial anti-dumping duties on future imports.
The products under investigation for alleged dumping are:
- chopped glass fibre strands, of a length of not more than 50 mm;
- glass fibre rovings, excluding glass fibre rovings which are impregnated and coated and have a loss on ignition of more than 3 % (as determined by the ISO Standard 1887); and
- mats made of glass fibre filaments excluding mats of glass wool.
The product under investigation is currently classified under the CN codes 7019 11 00, ex 7019 12 00, 7019 14 00 and 7019 15 00 (TARIC codes 7019 12 00 22, 7019 12 00 25, 7019 12 00 26, 7019 12 00 39).
Affected parties, including importers and EU users wishing to comment and defend their interests, can participate in the investigation. Deadlines for participation can be as short as 7 days, so quick action is required if parties intend to participate.
