CMS has been recognised for its work across Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) at the CEE Legal Matters Awards 2025, an annual celebration of lawyers and law firms that have acted on deals shaping the CEE region.
CMS won five ‘Deal of the Year’ awards, recognising the firm’s role acting on leading deals in Hungary, Poland, Romania, Serbia and Ukraine.
- In Hungary, CMS was recognised for its role on Corvinus and Vinci Airports’s acquisition of Budapest International Airport from AviAlliance, Malton and CDPQ.
- In Poland, CMS was recognised for its role in EBRD’s minority equity investment in VeloBank.
- In Romania, CMS was recognised for its role on the EnergoNuclear and FCSA joint venture’s EUR 3.2bn EPCM contract for Cernavoda NPP Units 3 and 4.
- In Serbia, CMS was recognised for its role on the Actis-led Consortium’s acquisition of Telekom Srbija Tower Portfolio.
- In Ukraine, CMS was recognised for its role on the NJJ Holding and Horizon Capital-led Consortium’s acquisition of Datagroup-Volia and Lifecell.
The CEE Deal of the Year Awards celebrate the transactions, financings, IPOs, and other deals that underpin growth throughout the region, as well as the lawyers and law firms that make them happen. The winners were chosen by two rounds of selection committees, consisting of senior law firm partners and in-house counsel from across CEE, and were announced at the annual CEE Deal of the Year Awards Gala on April 1, 2025.
