Relevant experience

  • REPDO 3 – Advising the Ministry of Energy of Saudi Arabia on the procurement of 1.7GW of solar electricity capacity in Saudi Arabia. Role involves evaluating the bids and negotiating to contractual close with the successful bidder and supporting in achieving financial close.
  • Petroleum Development Oman LLC (PDO): Advising PDO on its procurement of Oman’s first wind IPP. Role includes advising on the applicable statutory and regulatory framework and project structure, drafting the Request for Proposals and project agreements which incorporate a project risk profile capable of supporting limited recourse project finance, and assisting PDO with its procurement of the project to the project company’s financial close.
  • Ibri II PV IPP: Advising ACWA Power and the sponsors in reaching financial close on the US$400 million 500-MW Ibri II photovoltaic solar independent power project, considered the largest utility-scale solar park in Oman.
  • Duqm Refinery Project: Advising the lenders on the US$4.61 billion financing of the Duqm Refinery Project, the largest project financing in Oman.
  • Oman Arab Bank SAOG: Advising Oman Arab Bank SAOG on its takeover of Alizz Bank SAOG.
  • Advising various international financial institutions considering doing business in Oman on licensing requirements and regulatory issues, particularly in relation to the ability to take security, marketing of securities and entering into derivative products with Omani counterparties.
  • Acting for clients in relation to a transfer of shares.
  • Acting for clients in relation to trademark registrations.
  • Assisting in corporate and financial due diligence, as well as drafting due diligence reports.
  • Assisting in providing Oman law advice to the lessor on an aircraft lease and local registrations.
