Kate is a Senior Associate in the commercial technology law team of CMS specialising in complex digital transactions, outsourcings, strategic product launches and local regulator outreach across the IT, AI, cloud, retail, payments, media, and life sciences sectors in the UAE and KSA. Kate works closely with the legal, technical, and commercial teams of her clients to find practical and business-driven solutions that drive growth while ensuring regulatory compliance. 

Kate has significant in-house experience completing a 12-month, full-time secondment in the Dubai headquarters of a global e-commerce company where she advised on consumer and vendor-facing initiatives for the UAE and KSA retail stores. Her work included launching new high-risk product categories and navigating key consumer law developments across MENA.

  • TikTok on content and media compliance and regulatory strategy.
  • Allianz on digital health considerations and product launches in the UAE and KSA. 
  • Disney on content and media regulation matters. 
  • An e-pharmacy business on its launch in the UAE and KSA and regulatory issues around advertisement and selling of pharmaceutical products.
  • e& (formerly Etisalat) on commercial contracts, intellectual property, licensing, and data management. 
  • A Dubai government entity on operationalisation of AI products and data hosting and localisation considerations. 
  • A digital bank on obtaining one of the first digital banking licences in KSA and on its project-related and general procurement and outsourcings. 
  • A market-first co-branded credit card deal in the UAE involving complex systems integration, data sharing and financial regulatory and outsourcing issues.
  • A video games developer on the Middle East launch of in-game, virtual currencies. 
  • Abercrombie & Fitch on consumer law and telemarketing matters. 
  • New Balance on distribution and supply commercial agreements. 
  • Nestlé on product safety and food labelling considerations. 
  • SharkNinja on product launches and consumer law matters. 
  • Riyadh Air on management of customer data and data protection compliance.
  • DIFC Commissioner of Data Protection on the development of the Ethical Data Management Risk Index for international transfers of personal data.
