Stephanie Melone is a senior associate based in CMS Dubai. Stephanie has a broad commercial litigation practice, working on complex disputes in the financial services, banking and corporate sectors. She has particular sector expertise in investment fund disputes, shareholder disputes and claims for and against banks.

Relevant experience

Acting for the Administrators of London Capital & Finance PLC (LCF), investigating the collapse of LCF in circumstances where it owes creditors in excess of £230 million.
Acting for a European investment firm regulated by the FCA in a claim against two former fund managers for breaching various agreements arising out of the dissolution of a company.
Acting for a Ugandan bank (in Receivership) and certain of its shareholders pursuing a USD $200 million Commercial Court claim in England for conspiracy, dishonest assistance and corruption arising out the closure and transfer of its assets to another Ugandan bank at an undervalue and in suspicious circumstances.
Acting for a Luxembourg entity, successfully defending claims in England and Luxembourg that the purchase of shares from a Bulgarian telecommunications provider at €330 million were rigged.
Acting for a private equity and asset management company defending several claims for relief in Commercial Court proceedings in England where the underlying investment asset was a substantial luxury hotel and villa development in the Caribbean island of St Barts.
Advising individuals accused of fraudulent misrepresentation and breach of warranty in the sale of a national infrastructure business to a multi-national corporation.
Acting for a UAE public sector client in the successful defence of a DIAC arbitration claim by a main contractor totalling c.AED 4.5 billion, arising out of a landmark development in Dubai.
