Yara is a Saudi‑qualified associate with three years' post-qualification experience, focusing on technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) and regulatory advisory work, advising technology providers, online platforms and cybersecurity companies on complex legal, commercial, and compliance matters in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Her practice spans data protection and privacy, cloud computing, cybersecurity, sector specific compliance frameworks and licensing requirements.

In addition to her TMT experience, she also has experience in intellectual property, including trademark prosecution, infringement assessment and IP due diligence, and is registered with the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP) as a certified agent. 

With a background at top regional practices and exposure to complex transactional, regulatory, and contentious work, Yara brings an analytical, commercially attuned approach that supports clients operating at the intersection of technology, regulation, and business in Saudi Arabia.

Achievements

  • Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot

    Participated in numerous regional and international moot court competitions, namely the 25th,
    26th and 27th editions of the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot (Participant 2017 – 2019).

  • Conducting a KSA PDPL‑based analysis for a global social media platform on a comprehensive legitimate interest assessment.
  • A leading national airline on data flows across multiple communication and AI systems in relation to PDPL compliance, updating data protection clauses and alignment with applicable standard contractual clauses.
  • A major international sports organising body on drafting and updating bilingual privacy policies for its digital fan identification ecosystem, and updating Saudi‑law‑aligned data protection clauses
  • A leading digital platform with reviewing its materials for a regional entertainment initiative in relation to privacy compliance.
  • A US-headquartered cybersecurity company on the operation of business and cloud services regulatory/licensing requirements under the Communications, Space & Technology Commission (CST).
  • A global technology leader on a risk assessment for the transfer of personal data outside the
    KSA and its impact, reviewing cross‑border transfer terms and incorporation of KSA standard contractual clauses.
  • A significant acquisition by a US-headquartered film production group to assess and review documentation for IP due diligence.
