On 9 June 2025, the BritCham Shanghai held an event in Shanghai on the topic “Recent Legal Developments in 2025 – Impact on MNCs and Foreign Investment”.
Mr. Michael Munzinger, Counsel at CMS, China, Mr. Gilbert Shen, Counsel and Head of Tax of CMS, China and Ms. Panpan Tang, Senior Associate at CMS, China gave a keynote speech at the event. They introduced the recent developments in tariffs, sanctions, export control, the new VAT law and tariff law, data protection and AI, and shared their insights.
The keynote speech was followed by an engaging panel discussion moderated by Dr Ulrike Glueck, Managing Partner and Chief Representative of CMS, China Shanghai Office. The panelists explored the current legal challenges companies face and provided practical guidance on how businesses can proactively adapt to the changing regulatory framework.
