Stephen is Counsel at CMS, China Shanghai Office. He mainly focuses on corporate and commercial practice areas. He has been advising clients in M&A, foreign direct investment, general corporate law and restructuring since 2007. His expertise also covers other legal areas including corporate governance and commercial contracts.

Before joining CMS, China, Stephen worked in another international law firm.

  • Advising a leading German chemical enterprise on acquisition of Chinese domestic companies in pharmaceutical and chemical sectors in North and South China;
  • Advising a German shipping management company on establishment of a Sino-foreign equity joint venture located in Shanghai Free Trade Zone;
  • Advising on the dispute and management control between the foreign and the Chinese shareholders of a joint venture company located in Jiangsu Province, and advising on company restructuring and legal form conversion via arbitration process.
