CMS, China Talks about Labour Law and Taxation Issues for Hiring Foreign Employees in China

On 10 May 2023, the German Chamber of Commerce held an event in Hangzhou on the topic “Hiring Foreign Employees in China - Labour Law and Taxation Issues”.

Ms. Jeanette Yu, Partner and Head of Employment & Pensions of CMS, China, together with Mr. Gilbert Shen, Counsel and Head of Tax of CMS, China gave speeches on the topic. Ms. Yu introduced the employment and social security issues for foreign employees. She talked about the problems that companies may encounter in practice and shared her own experiences. Mr. Shen introduced Individual Income Tax issues for foreign employees and the preferential policies and shared his insight. HR managers/directors and legal counsels of European companies attended the event. They raised questions and exchanged their experiences.
