CMS advises club of banks led by Česká spořitelna on two cross-border financings supporting EMMA Capital’s growing Magna MedTech platform
CMS has advised a club of banks led by Česká spořitelna on two cross-border financings supporting EMMA Capital’s continued expansion of Magna MedTech Group, a healthcare distribution platform operating across South-Eastern Europe (SEE). The mandates comprised an increase in the existing financing for Serbian medical technology distributor Magna Pharmacia and a new financing for Magna MedTech Group.
The transactions support the continued development of a platform that EMMA Capital has been building since entering the healthcare distribution sector in 2024 through the acquisition of Magna Pharmacia, the MedTech distribution market leader in Serbia. The Group subsequently expanded in 2025 through the acquisition of Diamedix, one of Romania’s largest independent medical equipment distributors, followed by the acquisition of a 65% stake in Montenegrin distributor Urion.
Magna MedTech Group, one of the largest distributors of medical equipment and technology in SEE, is now present in six countries - Serbia, Romania, Moldova, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Montenegro - with annual turnover exceeding EUR 230m. Diamedix generated EUR 67m in revenue in 2025, with around 90% coming from laboratory and diagnostics activities, while Urion generated EUR 12.6m in revenue in 2025 and specialises in medical equipment and devices.
The new financing also comes as Magna MedTech Group continues to expand its regional footprint. In September 2026, the group completed the acquisition of a 70% stake in Bulgarian medical equipment distributor RSR. RSR has more than 100 employees and distributes products across areas including ophthalmology, intensive care, laboratory and interventional solutions, general surgery and diabetes care.
Petra Myšáková, Partner at CMS, said:
“EMMA Capital has built a sizeable regional healthcare distribution platform in a remarkably short period of time, with Magna Pharmacia, Diamedix, Urion and RSR now forming part of a business spanning six markets. Our ability to combine strong local expertise with seamless coordination across jurisdictions enables us to navigate complex financing structures efficiently and deliver a consistent approach for clients and lenders across multiple markets. We are pleased to have brought that expertise to this transaction and to support the continued expansion of Magna MedTech.”
