Jan Ježek is a Head of IP at CMS Prague who specialises in advising international and local clients on the protection of their intellectual property. This includes helping them to find the best strategy to identify, register and capture their intangible assets, and exercise, protect and enforce their intellectual property rights through litigations before the Czech courts, administrative proceedings before the Czech Industrial Property Office, European Union Intellectual Property Office and criminal proceedings.
Jan particularly focuses on intellectual property disputes and their resolution. In addition to representing clients in his role as an attorney, Jan specialises in negotiations and amicable dispute resolution as a registered mediator in the Czech Republic. Jan is also an IP mediator at the IP Mediation Centre in Prague, an institute established in cooperation with the Czech Industrial Property Office, which aims to promote alternative dispute resolution (ADR) in the intellectual property sector.
Jan also regularly advises clients in other legal areas, such as unfair competition, advertisement and marketing, telecommunications and media, gambling and consumer protection, which includes day-to-day advice, support in negotiations and representation in administrative proceedings before the competent regulatory authorities and courts.
