CMS Competition PAG meeting and conference

19/04/2018

On 19th April 2018, CMS Belgrade hosted an international conference on the status and perspectives of competition law enforcement in Serbia and the region.

Building upon experience from EU and its member states, including Germany and neighbouring Croatia, the conference gave an update of the status and offer possible conclusions as to the perspectives of the competition law enforcement in Serbia, a hot topic on a national and a global level.

Some of the most prominent competition protection experts spoke at the Belgrade conference, among them:

Dr Miloje Obradović - President of the Serbian Commission for Protection of Competition,
Nicholas Banasevic - European Commission, DG Competition, Head of Unit,
Dr Harald Kahlenberg - CMS Stuttgart, Partner, Head of CMS Competition Practice Group.

The conference aimed to answer important questions, such as if we should expect more dawn-raids, more sector enquiries, effective leniency regime, damages actions becoming a real option in Serbia and what should be changed in the current antitrust framework.

Following the international conference, CMS Belgrade hosted our colleagues from the CMS Competition Group for their annual meeting and training sessions on 20 and 21 April 2018. We were proud to welcome over 100 competition lawyers from 30 different CMS offices!
