Braathens Crew AB (reg. no. 556727-6216) and Braathens International Airways AB (reg. no. 556577-8676) were declared bankrupt by the Solna District Court on 30 September 2025. Anders Nilsson, Advokat at CMS Wistrand, has been appointed bankruptcy trustee. Together with a team of CMS Wistrand lawyers, he will manage the proceedings, which involve several different legal aspects and have an international reach.

The companies previously provided ACMI leasing of Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft to tour operators and remained fully operational until the opening of the insolvency proceedings. As a result of the bankruptcy, all flights were cancelled as of 30 September. The proceedings affect approximately 200 employees, who are covered by the Swedish state wage guarantee scheme.

CMS Wistrand is internationally recognised as one of Sweden’s foremost law firms in insolvency matters, with extensive experience in managing formal proceedings and insolvency across all sectors. The firm’s dedicated team consistently advises on financial restructuring, corporate reorganisations, bankruptcies, liquidations, and private compositions with creditors.

Further information regarding the bankruptcy will be published here on an ongoing basis.
