Niclas Widjeskog is a partner in the Dispute Resolution Practice at CMS Wistrand in Stockholm. Niclas joined CMS Wistrand in 2025 and previously served as the Nordic Head of the Litigation, Arbitration and Investigations Practice at another leading international law firm from 2012 to 2024.
Niclas specialises in arbitration, civil litigation, investigations and risk and crisis management. He has acted as counsel and arbitrator in a large number of arbitration cases, both ad hoc and institutional, and also has considerable experience of complex civil litigation, having represented clients before various courts including the Swedish Supreme Court. In addition to his arbitration and litigation work, Niclas advises corporations and financial institutions on their most sensitive and complex investigations, as well as on matters involving employment law.
In 2025, Niclas was appointed as a member of the newly established SCC Council for Swedish Arbitration, which comprises 15 distinguished Swedish legal professionals with extensive experience in international arbitration.
Niclas has experience of representing companies and financial institutions (from Europe, the US, Asia and the Middle East) as well as state entities in a variety of areas including share and asset purchases, agency and distribution, joint ventures, corporate and regulatory matters, competition, insolvency, product liability, employment and professional liability. Niclas regularly represents clients in sectors including energy, information and communication technologies, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, banking and finance, insurance and professional services.
