Rodrigo is partner and Head of the Compliance Group at CMS Carey & Allende. He advises in the design of compliance programs, mainly so as to avoid non-compliance and to minimize legal repercussions, should they occur.

  • Centrovet on a tort claim filed by Intervet (subsidiary of MSD, pharmaceutical multinational) alleging the illegal sale of a patented product.
  • Ausenco on arbitration proceeding against FAM América Latina (subsidiary of FAM Magdeburger Förderanlagen und Baumaschinen GmbH, Germany), in which the client is claimed damages arising from the breach of a Construction Contract.
  • Dream S.A. on criminal litigation against customers who, in association with employees, deceived the casino and fraudulently obtained USD 125,000. Also represented the company in public law actions, seeking to reverse a bidding decision taken by the Chilean Gaming Commission on the adjudication on a new casino license. Currently representing the company in civil and constitutional litigation against the Chilean Gaming Commission, due to fines unduly imposed to Dreams in connection with the operation of the “Casino Dreams Temuco”.
  • American Tower, operator and developer of wireless communication real estates, on an administrative claim against the Chilean Undersecretary of Telecommunications.
  • Compañía Minera Can-Can S.A. on criminal litigation regarding a work accident which took place in a mine owned by the company, in which an employee was fatally injured. Also represented the company in litigation related with the establishment of mining easements for the construction of a 60 km aqueduct and electric transmission lines.
  • Estancia Punta Delgada, owner of one of the largest real estates in Chilean Patagonia, on several mining trials against a multinational Oil & Gas exploration and exploitation company.
