CMS Switzerland Partner Daniel Kinzer Elected President of the Geneva Bar Association
Daniel Kinzer is an eminent litigation, criminal law and white-collar crime lawyer. His election as President of the Geneva Bar Association is a strong endorsement by Geneva’s legal community of his professional standing. In this capacity, he will be committed to representing the legal profession in Geneva, while playing a key role in fostering cohesion and providing governance within the Bar.
Founded 130 years ago, the Geneva Bar Association (l'Ordre des avocats de Genève) defends and represents the interests of the legal profession before the judicial and political authorities, as well as in its relations with other bars in Switzerland and abroad. It performs a disciplinary role to ensure respect for the fundamental values and the guiding principles of the profession. It also represents the interests of its members, who currently number more than 2,300 lawyers across nearly 500 firms.
As President of the Geneva Bar Association and chair the Bar Council, Daniel Kinzer will continue advancing the institutional mission to safeguard the independence and uphold the ethical standards of the profession, foster constructive dialogue among its members, ensure optimal conditions for practice and affirm Geneva’s position as a leading legal centre.
We congratulate Daniel Kinzer on this distinguished appointment and wish him a successful and fulfilling term carrying out the institutional responsibilities it entails.
