CMS von Erlach Poncet Ltd announces that the Swiss Parliament has elected Ms Aileen Truttmann (Attorney-at-law, Counsel) Deputy Judge at the Swiss Supreme Court by 196 votes out of 196 valid votes.
As the highest judicial authority in Switzerland, the Swiss Supreme Court issues final rulings on disputes between individuals, between cantons, between individuals and the government, as well as between cantons and the federal authorities. In this function, the Swiss Supreme Court covers all legal domains in principle: civil and criminal law, debt enforcement and bankruptcy law, as well as public and administrative law (including social insurance law). The Swiss Supreme Court is responsible in particular for protecting the constitutional rights of citizens.
Aileen Truttmann joined CMS von Erlach Poncet Ltd’s Geneva office in2015, after having in particular clerked for a little more than two years at the first administrative division of the Swiss Supreme Court. Aileen Truttmann’s area of practice is mainly commercial dispute resolution. She in particular acts as counsel or arbitrator in international commercial arbitrations. Multi-skilled, she moreover represents institutional or private clients before Swiss courts, mainly in commercial matters, but also in others areas of the law.
