David Müller is a lawyer in the Banking & Finance department of CMS Geneva. His practice focuses mainly on banking and financial law, corporate law and contract law.

He advises Swiss and foreign clients, in particular Swiss and foreign financial institutions – such as banks, securities firms, asset managers (individual and collective), funds – financial intermediaries, insurance intermediaries, international groups and companies operating in regulated sectors, in connection with financial, regulatory, transactional and contractual matters.
His work particularly covers advising on financial services, authorisations, FINMA rulings and proceedings, anti-money laundering, reports to Money Laundering Reporting Office Switzerland (MROS), structured products, investment clubs, tied and non-tied insurance intermediation, as well as certain financing transactions, corporate law matters and contractual structuring.

David Müller also serves as Lead Innovation & Legal Tech in the CMS Geneva office. In this capacity, he leads initiatives relating to artificial intelligence, including team training, the development of in-house solutions and legal innovation projects based on artificial intelligence and technology.

David Müller obtained his Bachelor of Law from the University of Lausanne in 2020, during which he completed a one-year exchange at the University of Zurich. He was subsequently awarded a master's degree in law and economics (HEC & Law) by the University of Lausanne in 2022.

Alongside his studies, he worked part-time in law firms in Lausanne and Vevey, as well as at a court as an ad hoc clerk. He was also involved in the non-profit sector through the Junior Entreprise EPFL, where he held the positions of Vice-President Legal, with particular responsibility for contractual matters and advising start-ups.

Before joining CMS, he worked in tax at a Big Four firm in Geneva, an experience that enabled him to deepen his understanding of tax issues and risk identification in a transactional and regulatory context.

David Müller joined CMS Geneva in August 2022. After being admitted to the bar, he rejoined CMS Geneva and has been practising as a lawyer since October 2024.
