Roxana Sharifi is Lead Innovation & Legal Tech at CMS Switzerland and a lawyer admitted in Switzerland and Germany. She combines experience in legal practice with expertise in artificial intelligence (AI), its implementation in legal work and its implications for legal services.
Roxana has built CMS Switzerland's AI function. Her work spans AI strategy and governance, the evaluation and deployment of legal AI tools, and the development of workflows and training programmes that support their effective use in legal practice. She works with lawyers, technology providers and IT teams, and advises management on AI-enabled client solutions and internal workflows.
Roxana regularly speaks and delivers workshops on AI in legal practice, AI in arbitration and litigation, and AI governance and regulation, including the EU AI Act and the Swiss legal framework for AI. She provides internal and external AI training and publishes on legal technology. Her focus is on helping legal professionals understand what these technologies can do, assess their limitations and apply them effectively in their work.
Her legal experience includes national and international arbitration, litigation, M&A and corporate matters, and insolvency and restructuring under Swiss and German law. This background informs her approach to the use of AI in legal work, including questions of reliability, professional responsibility and legal judgment.
Roxana studied law at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main. She was admitted to practise in Germany in 2023 and additionally in Switzerland in 2026. Having previously trained at CMS Zurich, she returned as an associate in 2023. Her earlier experience includes a leading commercial law firm in Frankfurt, the World Bank Group and the German-Danish Chamber of Commerce.
