Ramón is co-head of the Corporate/M&A Group of CMS Carey & Allende. His practice focuses primarily on M&A operations both in Chile and in other parts of Latin America, where he has played an important role in the international expansion of various Chilean companies.
He also represents foreign investment funds in private equity operations in Chile, and companies that receive this type of investment, advising on the design of structures for the participation of investors in company development as well as exit mechanisms; establishing and maintaining excellent rapport with all parties involved.
In capital markets, Ramón advises issuing companies and investment banks in the issuance, registration and placement of securities, assisting companies that enter this market on all essential aspects, such as ensuring transparency and timeliness in the delivery of all information on the issuer, and in the continuous improvement of corporate governance, ensuring future access to the market as a source of financing. In this sense, Ramón has led various takeover bids, including hostile takeover bids.
Ramón is a recognized expert in sectors related to telecommunications and information technology. For several years, he served as CEO of a publicly traded telecommunications company, making him not only an expert in this sector, but also giving him unique insight into the business environments of CMS Carey & Allende’s clients. His experience as CEO also covers accounting and financial matters, which has allowed him to actively participate in debt restructuring processes, and restructuring in case of insolvency. Ramón is a frequent speaker in international IBA forums, as well as Latin Lawyer on matters related to private equity and M&A.

Ramón is a partner in the Technology, Media & Communications (TMC) Group at CMS Carey & Allende. He is recognized as a leading lawyer in areas related to telecommunications and information technology.
Between 1994 and 2001 he served as general manager of the telecommunications company Télex Chile S.A., which was listed on both the Chilean stock market and the NYSE, with operations in Chile, the United States and various Latin American countries. This experience allows him to both know and anticipate the needs and challenges that our clients may face.
