We Are Recruiting an Advanced Associate - Banking and Finance Department (Business Litigation)
As part of the continued growth of our Banking & Finance department, we are seeking a Advanced Associate specialising in banking and financial litigation with 4 to 6 years of relevant experience. You will advise and represent a diverse client base, including international groups, financial institutions, family-owned businesses and local companies, in complex commercial disputes. You will be involved in high-stakes matters, including banking and financial litigation, fraud cases, banking liability claims, the enforcement of guarantees and security interests, disciplinary proceedings before regulatory authorities, and enforcement measures. You will work closely with the partners and other practice groups on both domestic and cross-border matters. This position offers significant client exposure, a high level of responsibility, and the opportunity to play a key role in the development of one of Monaco's leading dispute resolution practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth legal research and monitor regulatory and case law developments.
- Draft procedural documents, submissions, legal opinions, memoranda and correspondence.
- Advise and act in disputes relating to banking and financial transactions, financings, guarantees and security interests, as well as contractual disputes.
- Assist clients in their dealings with regulatory authorities and represent them in disciplinary proceedings before regulatory bodies.
- Work on banking, financial and fraud-related disputes across both civil and commercial matters.
- Handle enforcement proceedings, interim and conservatory measures, debt recovery actions, as well as fraud and financial liability cases.
- Coordinate interactions with experts, bailiffs, administrative authorities, foreign counsel and other stakeholders where required.
- Contribute to the development of client relationships and the Banking & Finance practice of the firm.
Candidate Profile
- Master’s degree in Banking and Finance Law, Corporate/Business Law, or an equivalent qualification.
- 4 to 6 years of experience gained within a leading law firm with a recognised banking and financial litigation practice.
- Proven expertise in banking and financial litigation, contractual disputes, regulatory and disciplinary proceedings, and dispute resolution.
- Excellent advocacy, drafting, analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Ability to manage complex matters independently while thriving in a collaborative environment.
- Strong client relationship skills and a genuine aptitude for business development.
- High level of professionalism, attention to detail, rigour and a constant pursuit of excellence.
- Fluent command of both French and English, written and spoken.
