Martina is a senior associate in the LAIE team (Litigation & Arbitration, Insurance, Employment) at CMS Slovakia. She mainly focuses on employment, data protection, IP and insurance matters. 

Martina specialises in providing legal advice to Slovak and international clients on the full range of employment-related issues, including hiring and transferring employees, company reorganisations, health and safety, remuneration and employment termination. She also assists clients in negotiations with employees and trade unions, and she has significant experience in employment litigation and settlements.

Data protection is a further area of expertise: Martina’s practice covers internal investigations, delivering training seminars, and conducting compliance audits. She also regularly advises on IP and insurance matters and has a strong knowledge of broader commercial and regulatory issues. Martina is currently advising several of the largest global investors active in Slovakia on an ongoing basis.

  • Gilead on drafting employment documentation with employees and contractors, reviewing internal regulations, reviewing contracts with work agencies, drafting data processing consents, reviewing privacy policies and reviewing contracts with professional advisors and suppliers.
  • Galderma on the termination and reorganisation of employment relationships with all employees on the winding up of the Slovak subsidiary.
  • A global online e-retailer on employment law issues, including the review of a temporary assignment agreement between the employer and a temporary employment agency, advice on monitoring employees, a framework recruitment agreement and occupational health and safety.
  • A world leading steel manufacturing company active in the automotive development field on collective bargaining processes and representing the client before the trade unions.
  • An international steel-based technology and capital goods group on a reorganisation of its Slovak company’s management.
  • An international sports-goods retailer on local employment regulations including travel allowances, termination of employment, and allowances for recreation.
  • A leading luxury car manufacturer on legal employment issues including illegal employment and agency employment, as well as ongoing advice on data protection issues including GDPR compliance.
  • UPC on complex assistance with the implementation of GDPR requirements into its business.
  • A company focusing on system integration in the area of transport providing advice on all the IP aspects of its products and services, including the IP aspects of their payment systems (e-wallet).
