Maja Šipek has been an associate with CMS since March 2017. Before joining CMS, she gained experience in a top-tier Slovene law firm (2015), in one of the ˝Big Four˝ firms (2015-2016) and another international law firm (2016-2017). She has already gained experience in advising global clients regarding tax law issues, the acquisition and sale of performing and non-performing financial assets, regulatory banking work, banking & finance litigation, refinancing, forensic legal reviews and capital markets.

Maja Šipek has, amongst other matters, been involved in forensic legal reviews in financial institutions and subsequent litigation procedures, in advising Slovenia’s largest bank in the disposal of a corporate and retail NPL portfolio with a gross exposure of approximately EUR 800m, which constitutes Slovenia’s largest NPL transaction in the past few years, in representing an international investment bank in the purchase of loans with a value of over EUR 160m of the ACH Group from DUTB and other banks, and in advising international investors on the acquisition of the corporate NPL portfolio from a Slovenian bank, which constituted Slovenia’s largest NPL transaction in 2017
