CMS and Oxyria Group invite you to a private virtual briefing on Ukraine's security outlook and its implications for companies in defense, defense technology, energy, infrastructure, and finance.
Ukraine is entering another winter of war at a pivotal moment for its security, its defense industry, and its economy. For companies operating in or considering engagement with Ukraine, particularly in defense and dual-use technology, energy, infrastructure, and finance, the coming months will bring important signals on the course of the war, the durability of Western support, and the direction of defense-industrial and procurement policy.
This 60-minute virtual briefing will give a pragmatic, business-focused assessment of the operating environment, highlighting the developments companies should monitor when making commercial and investment decisions, and how they can engage in line with Ukraine's own priorities.
Who should attend
Senior executives, in-house counsel, geopolitical risk managers, and investment professionals at companies and institutions with current or planned exposure to Ukraine and the wider region, particularly in:
- Defense, defense technology, and dual-use, drone, and autonomous systems
- Energy, power generation, and grid resilience
- Infrastructure, construction, engineering, and transport
- Critical minerals and extractive industries
- Financial institutions, insurers, and investors, including those assessing Poland, the Baltics, and Central Europe as part of a regional strategy
- Development finance institutions and infrastructure and energy fun
- Registration is complimentary. Space is limited, and registration does not guarantee a place: selected participants will receive a final invitation with the joining link 48 hours before the event.
What will be covered
- Security situation and outlook - where the war stands, how the front line, air campaign, and diplomacy may evolve over the next 6–12 months, and the state of Western military, financial, and political support.
- Defense technology and industry - changes in Ukraine's Ministry of Defense leadership and defense-industrial policy; the pace of innovation in drones and autonomous systems; and opportunities, barriers, and export, co-production, and IP considerations for Western firms.
- Infrastructure needs - the most urgent priorities in energy, heat and water, transport, and housing; how repair and resilience work is financed and coordinated; and where near-term procurement channels are.
- Business implications - risk, insurance, and due-diligence considerations, and practical first steps for companies deciding whether, when, and how to engage.
