CMS celebrates significant awards success in CEE

26 April 2024

International law firm CMS has won several awards this week, reflecting its dominance and reputation for excellence in Central and Eastern Europe. CMS was named CEE Law Firm of the Year and Hungary Law Firm of the Year at the 2024 Chambers Europe Awards, which took place in Paris. In addition, CMS won four ‘Deal of the Year’ awards at CEE Legal Matter’s ceremony in Warsaw, where Kostadin Sirleshtov, Managing Partner of CMS Sofia and Head of Energy & Climate Change for CEE, was also named 2023 Consummate Professional. CMS was also named National Law Firm of the Year in Hungary at the IFLR Europe Awards 2024, which celebrate the most legally innovative cross-border deals closed in 2023.

The Chambers Europe Awards recognise a law firm’s pre-eminence in key jurisdictions in the region. They also reflect achievements over the past 12 months including outstanding work, impressive strategic growth, and excellence in client service. These two wins are further recognition of CMS’s leading position in CEE and Hungary, after the firm achieved top rankings in the latest CEE Chambers edition.

The CEE Legal Matters Deal of the Year Awards celebrate the largest and most important deals in Central and Eastern Europe. CMS was recognised for its work on 4iG and Corvinus's acquisition of Vodafone in Hungary, EBRD's USD 480m financing for MHP in Ukraine, Brookfield and Digital Bridge’s acquisition of GD Towers from Deutsche Telekom in Austria, and Linamar's Acquisition of Dura-Shiloh from Dura Automotive in North Macedonia and DFC, IFC.
