Best use

Best use of certain contracts for a limited time under the new law

Due to the various new rules, the best practice is to enter into three contracts with a total term of 23 months. For example, one contract for 7 months and two consecutive contracts for 8 months. You can then:

  1. Conclude the maximum number of contracts allowed (3) within the provisions on succession of fixed-term employment contracts before a permanent employment is created;
  2. Include a trial period; and
  3. No transition fee applies.

Please note: for a 6 month contract, the obligation for a term of notice applies. To prevent this, the choice can be made to enter into contracts for less than 6 months. However, in such contracts you cannot include a trial period.
