EU anti-dumping investigation concerning imports of certain primary cells and primary batteries originating in China

On 2 July 2026, the EU opened an anti-dumping investigation concerning imports of primary cells and primary batteries of alkaline manganese dioxide originating in the People’s Republic of China, which could lead to substantial anti-dumping duties on future imports.

The product under investigation

The product under investigation is primary cells and primary batteries of alkaline manganese dioxide, in the form of cylindrical cells, not rechargeable, not spent, not waste and scrap, excluding parts.

The product under investigation is currently classified under CN code 8506 10 11.
