Valeska specialises in data protection and privacy law, as well as intellectual property, including trademark law, copyright, design law, unfair trade practices and media law. Valeska advises national and international clients on all aspects of data protection compliance and assists them in the negotiation, drafting, execution or termination of their IT/commercial contracts and other ICT-related projects. In these matters, she also represents her clients in court proceedings.

Valeska obtained her master's degree in law at the University of Ghent and holds an LL.M. in intellectual property and ICT law from the KU Leuven. She studied for six months at the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne in the framework of Erasmus.

Valeska has been working as a practice assistant at the Centre for IT and IP Law (CiTiP) at KU Leuven since 2019.

Valeska joined CMS' Technology and Data practice in 2022, after working in the IP and IT department of a well-known Belgian law firm.

Valeska is fluent in Dutch and English and has a good command of French.
