CMS advised Conzzeta on the sale of Schmid Rhyner Group
Swiss listed Conzzeta AG and the German specialty chemicals group ALTANA have agreed that ALTANA acquires the Schmid Rhyner Group from Conzzeta.
Within ALTANA, Schmid Rhyner will be integrated into the ACTEGA division. Globally operating ACTEGA develops and produces coatings and sealants, printing inks and adhesives for flexible and rigid packaging as well as for the graphic arts industry. Schmid Rhyner specializes in print finishing with innovative UV and water based primers, overprint coatings and laminating adhesives. Founded in 1880 and headquartered in Adliswil, Switzerland, the Schmid Rhyner Group generated sales of roughly 50 million Euros in 2018.
By acquiring the Schmid Rhyner Group, ALTANA strengthens its competences in the area of overprint varnishes and enters new markets and application areas, especially in the fields of flexible packaging and digital printing. With its complementary product offering and global market access, ALTANA is the ideal partner for Schmid Rhyner.
A team from CMS Switzerland, led by Patrick Sommer, advised Conzzeta on all legal matters of the transaction.
