Brazil is Latin America's largest economy and an increasingly important global player. Energy and natural resources are driving economic growth. Mergers and acquisitions and private equity investment have reached record levels in recent years, while government initiatives, Brazil’s hosting of the World Cup in 2014 and the Rio Olympics in 2016, are creating huge demand for infrastructure investments.

On the other hand, macroeconomic and political challenges, combined with a string of high-profile corruption investigations have turned many investors off. However, with solid long-term fundamentals, attractive asset values and new opportunities in the energy and infrastructure sectors, is now the right time to get into Brazil?

CMS is pleased to collaborate with leading Brazilian law firms and fellow members of Lex Anglo-Brasil, Bichara Advogados and Aroeira Salles Advogados, to present this seminar examining the opportunities for investors in these sectors, as well as the challenges that exist in the current business climate.
